The Blue Mountains run from Mason County southwest through Kimble County and on toward Junction. They are the largest limestone hills in this part of the hill country. The Mountains make excellent habitat for our Markhor which live in them and feed on the shin oak and walnut trees which grow in the draws and on the hill sides. Monument Mountain on the west end of the ranch rises 400 feet above the river valley and is over 2200 feet elevation making it the highest point in Mason County.
