The James River is one of the largest tributaries of the Llano River. The river flows from Harper, Texas to Mason and is fed by creeks and artesian springs which run with little reduction in the base flow. The ranch has over 5 miles of the James River running through the property. There are several springs in the river bottom as it flows through the ranch. These springs produce pockets of cold clear water for game on the ranch most of the year.
